Candy Fund Raising
A candy fundraiser is a tasty way to help an organization
raise money. Promoted beforehand by color photographs or delicious
samples, candy sales appeal to just about anyone of any age. Even those
on a diet may be tempted to sneak a little treat now and then with the
consoling thought that they are helping your group to reach its
fundraising goal.
Depending on where you work, you might be able to set out a box of
candy bars with a sign or envelope that tells how much each one costs
and the name of the organization to which a check should be made out.
If this won’t work at your company, you might be able to send an email
message to your colleagues and let them know about your fundraising
goal. You might want to send your message just before or after lunch to
whet coworkers’ appetites.
Family members and friends as well as neighbors likewise may be
interested in purchasing candy from your sale. You can show them the
bars when they come to visit or take a few with you the next time you
go to see one of them.
Even kids can get involved. It’s very difficult to resist an earnest
child who is trying to sell you a candy bar for a good cause. But never
let your kids go out to sell candy without adult supervision. Too many
kids have become victims of molesters or murderers when they tried to
make an innocent fundraising sale.
Keep good records of all sales on the forms provided by the candy
company. Or make your own if need be, with slots for the buyer’s name,
product type and quantity as well as the amount paid, and contact
information. List the delivery date at the top of the page in case
someone asks and you can’t remember. Then all you have to do is collect
the money and turn it in as well as deliver the candy when it
arrives.
